Bouldering Walls
Bouldering has been booming over the last 10 years and the rise of modern bouldering walls has been nothing short of impressive. They have evolved from being just a place for the keen route climber to train when it was raining, to becoming a mainstream recreational activity. Nowadays, it’s difficult to find a major city or town without a bouldering gym, and many cities have multiple centres, all thriving with activity. However, with this rise in popularity comes a lot of competition. Therefore, it’s essential to stand out in a crowded market.
Design
When it comes to designing bouldering walls, our approach is to create subtle angles that work in harmony with modern-day holds and volumes. Our walls not only provide a functional climbing surface, but are also visually striking features that enhance the overall look of any space.
We’ve also worked hard on our paint and texturing system to ensure a long-lasting and professional finish that limits marking. Our use of a diamond T-nut grid of 90 T-nuts per board allows for optimum spacing while still providing plenty of variety when route setting.
Sustainability
Sustainability is a significant concern for us, and we strive to minimise our impact on the planet and our industry. While we use climbing holds made from resins and foam matting made from petrochemicals, we try our best to make our climbing walls as environmentally friendly as possible. We source our timber locally, both to our workshop and when we’re on-site, and generally use timber framing for our walls to avoid using steel. Our climbing panels are made from the highest quality 18mm birch plywood. We also ensure that we use as much of our off-cuts of plywood from cutting out the climbing wall as possible in our substructure, reducing waste and making the most of our resources. Overall, our goal is to provide the best possible bouldering experience while minimising our impact on the environment.
